Green River



Green River is a city in Sweetwater County, in the Rock Springs metro area. The community is in the Mountain Standard time zone. Called the "Trona Capital of the World", the city in the south west corner of the state on the Green River.

The Green River running through the heart of the town makes it an oasis in the "High Desert Country". Summers in Green River are hot and dry with ab average high of 87 degrees. It receives an average precipitation of 8.7 inches.
Winters average about 30 inches of snow with highs at about 35 degrees and lows down to 12 degrees. The average growing lasts for 101 days.
